Walid Genadry has over 30 years of leadership experience in various industries, functions and countries, in both the private and public sectors where he often acted as a change agent.
He is presently an active Board Director at BEMO Bank, MEAB Bank and Al Nisr Al Arabi Insurance company, where he chairs Risk, Anti-Money Laundering and Compliance Committees. He is also a sought after speaker.
He previously headed the Insurance Supervisory Authority in Lebanon, which he built from inception and lead for thirteen years, introducing regulatory oversight to a previously unregulated industry.
During that period, he held various leadership roles at the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), the international insurance standard-setting organization, where he was an Executive Committee member for several years. During his tenure he conceived and implemented the worldwide Supervisory Development Strategy. He was honored as a Distinguished Fellow of the IAIS in recognition of his significant contributions. He is also the former Chairman and co-founder of the Arab Forum of Insurance Regulatory Commissions.
He was involved in major assignments and change management projects, in the Telecom and Banking industries, as well as a turnaround for the subsidiary of one of the large FMCG companies in the Middle East.
Walid began his career as an engineer in flight simulation with CAE Enterprises in Canada, and later worked as a management consultant with PWC and United Group Consultants in France.
Walid is an INSEAD MBA graduate (France), and holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from McGill University, Canada. He is an IFC Board Certified and also holds an accredited graduate Diploma in Executive and Professional Coaching from the University of Texas, Dallas, USA.
As an Executive Coach he works with Board members, CEOs and other “C” level Executives. His clients include Diageo, AXA and United Insurance.
